Darnell's Signature Workshops:
Unblocking & Unlocking the Creative
Creativity isn’t something we lose, but it does get buried—under fear, self-doubt, perfectionism, and the weight of daily life. This workshop is about uncovering what’s in the way and moving through it with curiosity rather than force. We explore the stories we’ve been told (and tell ourselves) about what it means to be ‘a creative person’ and dismantle the myths that keep us stuck. Through guided exercises, discussion, and reflection, participants leave with a renewed sense of possibility, practical tools to navigate resistance, and the permission to create without apology.
Returning to the Page: Writing to Heal
Grief, loss, change—these are some of the hardest things to hold, yet writing gives us a place to set them down. This workshop isn’t about finding the ‘right words’ but about giving ourselves the space to feel, to process, and to honor our experiences. We explore the ways writing can be a container for grief, a witness to our transformation, and a path toward healing. Through reflective exercises and shared insights, participants walk away with a practice that supports them in both the quiet and the storm.
Cultivating Creative Resilience
Creativity isn’t just about inspiration—it’s about endurance. Doubt, distraction, and disruption will show up, but they don’t have to derail us. This workshop is about learning to stay in motion, even when it feels hard. We look at the rhythms of our creative practice, the expectations that trip us up, and the ways we can build something sustainable instead of relying on fleeting bursts of motivation. Participants leave with practical strategies for working through creative ruts, finding joy in the process, and making creativity a lifelong companion.
Death, Dying, and the Importance of Telling Our Own Stories
Facing our mortality isn’t about bracing for the end—it’s about choosing to be fully present in the life we have. This workshop invites participants to engage with the stories they want to leave behind, the truths they want to share, and the ways acknowledging death can help us live with greater clarity. Through guided writing, reflection, and conversation, we explore what it means to tell our stories while we still can—and why doing so matters, both for ourselves and for those who come after us.
